Layers of protection

Every pool deserves more than one line of defense.

Nothing replaces an adult watching the water. But when attention slips for a moment, layered barriers buy precious time. We install every layer — and help you decide which ones your family actually needs.

Layer one · Life Saver Pool Fence

A barrier you can see right through.

Removable mesh pool fencing has protected young children in tens of thousands of homes for more than thirty years. The near-transparent mesh keeps your pool and landscaping in view while putting a locked, self-closing gate between toddlers and the water.

  • Standard 4 ft black mesh on reinforced aluminum poles, 30 in. apart
  • Over 50 color, height and pole combinations
  • Comes out and stores away when children aren't around

  • Solid covers with mesh drain panels or an automatic pump
  • 12-year warranty on both mesh and solid covers

Pool fence 101

Not all mesh fences are built the same.

We sell one grade of fence. Your budget changes how it looks — color, pole finish, trim — never how safe it is. Here's what to insist on, whoever installs your fence.

For the highest level of protection, we can install a Safety Turtle® wireless gate alarm on your self-closing, self-latching gate.

Why removable

Grandkids this weekend? Fence up. Gone home? Fence down.

A permanent fence changes your yard forever. A removable mesh fence protects toddlers, young children, older relatives and anyone who shouldn't be near the water alone — then rolls up and stores away when the pool is just for the grown-ups. It's why so many grandparents choose it.

How installation works

From first visit to fully fenced, usually in a day.

Our installers are factory trained and attend safety seminars every year. They work around your landscaping, your schedule and your deck surface.

  1. 01

    In-home visit

An installer measures your pool, brings fence samples, and plans a fence route that keeps the water inaccessible.

  2. 02

    Proposal & booking

Approve the layout and options. The typical wait from booking to install is 10 days to 2 weeks — even in busy season.

  3. 03

    Layout you approve

On install day the crew marks the fence line on your deck and walks it with you before anything is drilled.

  4. 04

    Clean, one-day install

Holes are cut with a water-cooled diamond core drill — not a hammer drill — then sleeves, poles and tensioned mesh go in.

Installs on almost any surface

  • Concrete
  • Pavers & stone
  • Wood & composite decks
  • Cool Deck
  • Dirt, grass or mulch

Questions

What pool owners ask us first.

Is a mesh pool fence permanent?

No — that's the point. Poles sit in small sleeves set flush into your deck. The fence stays up while young children are around, and lifts out and stores away when you want the open pool back. Grandparents especially like this: fence up for visits, down when the grandkids go home.

Will installation damage my pool deck?

We drill with a water-cooled diamond core drill rather than a hammer drill, which avoids the chipping and cracking hammer drills commonly cause. The fence line is marked on your deck and approved by you before a single hole is drilled.

How tall is the fence, and is it up to code?

Our standard fence is 4 feet (48 inches) — the height the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends and the height most local pool-barrier laws require. Life Saver Pool Fence was found to meet ASTM F2286-05 in January 2006. Other heights, including 5-foot fence, are available. Always confirm your municipality's barrier requirements before installing.

How long does it take?

After you approve a proposal and book, the typical wait is 10 days to 2 weeks, even in busy season. The install itself is almost always a one-day job — usually just a few hours.

Can it go on grass, mulch or a wood deck?

Yes. Beyond concrete and pavers, we install on wood and composite decks, Cool Decks, and even in dirt, grass or mulch.

Does a fence replace adult supervision?

No barrier replaces watching children around water. A fence, a safety cover and a gate alarm are layers of protection that buy time when attention slips for a moment. We'll help you decide which layers make sense for your yard.
